Design and Fabrication of a Robust Chitosan/Polyvinyl Alcohol-Based Humidity Sensor energized by a Piezoelectric Generator

Due to their rapid growth in industrial and environmental applications, there is a need develop self-powered humidity sensor systems with improved sensitivity, wide detection range, an eco-friendly nature. In this study, aqueous solution of chitosan (CS) polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) was blended yield composite film material enhanced properties. Meanwhile, polyvinylidene difluoride (PVDF)-loaded developed employed as piezoelectric generator. Moreover, the materials for both devices (the generator sensor) were optimized based on output performance. The generates maximum 16.2 V when force 10 N applied works power source humidity-sensing film. sensing swells response changes relative humidity, which affects resistance. This change resistance causes voltage through allows precise measurement (RH). fabricated showed linear (R2 = 0.981) reasonable sensitivity (0.23 V/% RH) environment RH range 21–89%. addition, device requires no external power, therefore, it has numerous applications various fields.
